Two weekends ago we took our first road trip as a family of four. I was so worried about how Isabella would handle the 5 hour ride that I initially told my husband he should go without us. Eventually we decided we would give it a shot.
We literally decided the day before we left that we were actually really going to make the drive so I didn’t have much time to think things through as far as what I needed to pack or how to prepare, but I think we did alright for being first timers! Next time I will definitely plan ahead.. I am visual and do best with a list. Also, I remember pinning an idea on pinterest to help keep baby clothes organized by folding an entire outfit into a ziplock bag. After this trip, I realized that this idea is genius! Its really hard to keep clothes/socks/bibs organized in a bag full of clothes.. trying to find 1 sock was torture! I will definitely be adopting this practice from here on out.
We left for LA around 4pm. I had Anthony sitting in the co-pilot seat to keep Oscar company while I sat in the backseat with Isabella. The hope there was that I could calm her down quickly and easily in the event of what we like to call a defcon 5 emergency. lol We drove for about two hours while Isabella slept and then made our first bathroom/diaper change/nursing pit stop. Thats where we took this selfie!
