If you have been following my blog for a while now you may remember my review of our DockATot Deluxe. The DockATot has been an essential for naps and bedtimes around here, we absolutely love it! Its also great to have while traveling, especially when co-sleeping. We have taken it with us on about 3 overnight stays in the last 6 months and I honestly don’t know what we did prior to the DockATot.

Grand Californian Hotel while traveling to Disneyland
Gio is just about 10 months old now and going strong growing like a weed. The Deluxe still does the job as you can see from the photo above (taken about 2 weeks ago) but he is about 21 pounds now so I figured there was no time like the present to start transitioning into the Grand.
I have to say, when I received our Grand in the mail, I was so surprised at how BIG it is! I get messages all the time asking if its ok to start off with the Grand rather than the Deluxe and I now know first hand why that is not recommended. The DockATot was made to mimic a mothers womb and for a new baby there is no way they will get that experience out of the Grand. The Grand is made for babies 9 months and older whose weight ranges between 22-40 pounds whereas the Deluxe is intended for babies between the ages of 0-9 months and weight of 5-22 pounds.
I’ve been posting photos here and there on Instagram of Gio in his DockATot and I always get so many messages from moms about it that I decided to compile the top five questions I get along with my answers for each below.
Q: Is it worth the money?
A: In my case, yes. Absolutely. Gio has been sleeping in his DockATot Deluxe since he was about 3 months old (thats when I finally broke down and made the purchase) and now in his Grand for about a month. He takes most of his naps in it and sleeps in it every night, with the exception of being sick.
Q: How big is your baby and is he in the Deluxe or the Grand?
A: Gio is now almost 9 1/2 months and we just recently switched over the to Grand, though he does still fit into his Deluxe (which we use while we travel). DockATot does not recommend the Grand for babies under 9 months of age. You can find more info on that here.
Q: Can you co-sleep with the DockATot?
A: DockATot states on their website, “When used in an adult bed properly, DockATot™ is very safe for co-sleeping. Just make sure to follow these important instructions: DockATot™ should always be placed in the middle of the bed (not near the sides) and at the top of the bed during co-sleeping. DockATot™ and its protective sides facilitate correct back positioning while preventing the baby from rolling out of bed, hitting his head against the headboard, getting caught between the bed and the wall or wriggling down under the covers. The sides also help prevent parents from rolling on top of the baby. The sides are also comfy enough for the parent to have his/her arm over the side to pat and reassure the baby.” You can read more by clicking here.
Q: Do you use the DockATot in the crib?
A: I do use the DockATot in Gio’s crib for naps under my supervision, though it is important to note that DockATot does NOT recommend use in the crib or bassinet. You can find more information on that here.
I hope I was able to answer all of your questions and if not, please feel free to leave them below and I will do my best to answer them all.
