This post is brought to you by The Stair Barrier. All opinions and thoughts are my own. Thank you so much for supporting the brands that make this blog possible!
If you live in a two story and have little ones, you know the struggle to keep them off the stairs is real. We have lived in our home for about two years now and its been such a pain trying to find a gate that fits our stair case.
In the last two years I have probably purchased three separate gates – none of which worked out. They were either too short, too wide or not meant for a wall to banister stair case. We eventually caved in and bought a gate to fit the hallway leading up to our stairs (pictured below).
While it has been effective in keeping the kids off the stairs, it also has kind of a pain. Its not exactly the prettiest thing to look at all day long and we often feel trapped in our back living room. Its such a small space and having the gate up seems to make it feel smaller. Its also a pain to host any party here at our home with this gate. No one seems to know how to work it and quite frankly it just becomes more of a pain in the butt than anything else.
I’m happy to say that I’ve finally found a gate that not only works for our stairs, but one that isn’t an eyesore to look out.

Beige Geo Design
The Stair Barrier is unique because it is not like your typical baby gate. It was designed to offer a safe, stylish and customizable solution to all types of staircases. They offer ten different fabric designs to fit your home decor and offer gates or both banister to banister staircases as well as wall to banister staircases.
So how does it work?
If you have a banister to banister staircase, there is no drilling involved at all. You simply clip each side of the gate to each side of your banister and you are set to go!
If you have a wall to banister staircase like me, you will need to drill into the wall in order to secure that side of the gate. The gate is then secured to the banister with three simple clicks.
When your gate is not in use, you simply role it to one side to keep it tucked neatly and out of the way!
Voilà!
If you are like me and sick and tired of chasing your kids up the stairs or looking at an eyesore of a gate, go check out The Stair Barrier and see what they have to offer!
This is genius!! I love the fabric option to make it look so much more stylish!
That’s my favorite part about this gate. You can see our stair opening from the front door so its nice to have something that fits our home style!
How cool! This is such a neat idea. I’m passed the baby gate stage, but I’ll have to remember these for gifts in the future!
I love how pretty it is! My mom needs this at her house for when all the grandkids are over. We always stress over the babies/toddlers and the stairs every time we visit!
I love the stair barrier! That was a great choice!
It’s so gorgeous!
This is awesome!! I’ll have to share it with my neighbor. She has a banister staircase style, and it’s a battle for her. Thanks!!

I love the pattern on it! So cute, and it would actually fit in with decor instead of looking out of place like most baby safety devices.
This is so cool! I love how it looks so much better looking then a lot of gates out there! Great post mama!
This is such a great idea! And so cute!
This a Great way to keep all toddlers from going up and down the stairs. Great Options for Fabrics.
Such a cute and simple idea! Love how we can do little things like that and still retain a décor theme throughout out homes. Is it silly I think that’s important? lol Oh well, makes me happy!
That is such a fun baby gate! I love that they have different fabric to choose from!
I love how cute these are! I totally need one at the bottom of my stairs to keep my 2 year old on the first floor!
That’s adorable and so perfect!
Such a cute idea! My little monkey couldn’t scale that one!
that is a nice baby gate alternative. I really like that and will look into that instead because I have two baby gates in my home that are eyesores.
