When I first started this blog, it was merely a challenge to myself. You see, photography has always been a hobby of mine and I had just bought my long sought after camera. I was dying to show off my progress, not only to myself, but to my friends and family as well. I had no idea that a couple of years later my blog would turn into what it is today. I certainly never dreamed that I would eventually come to make any money off of it.
I feel like over the last couple of years especially, I’ve grown so much. Not just in photography, but in the blogging world itself. I may not be one of the “cool” bloggers with a million followers, but I feel proud of what I have accomplished in a short timeline and I know that there is no way I would be where I am today if it weren’t for these kick ass ladies that I’m introducing you to below. These women not only inspire me on a daily basis, but they have also taught me a lot along the way. Some of us learned together, others learned on their own and were incredibly sweet enough to share their knowledge with me afterwards.
When women support each other, incredible things happen.
Meet my friends!
Jacki from Crazy Life with Littles
Jacki blogs about life with her crazy little people (who happen to be freaking adorable!). She is quite literally my sister from another mister. If we lived closer, I imagine that we would have lots of crazy “Bad Mom” nights out together. We have become super close friends and basically text each other throughout the day about anything and everything. My favorite thing about Jacki is that she tells you like it is – so I know that if I were to ask her “…does my butt look big in this?” she would have absolutely no problem telling me to go try something else on. LOL Sometimes you just need that kind of honesty in your life!
Eryka from Busy Little Izzy
Eryka blogs about everything relating to toddlers and also shares fun gluten free recipes! Much like my friend Jacki, Eryka is always willing to tell you like it is and isn’t afraid to use a little bit of foul language when needed (because sometimes you just need to say f*ck). If her and I lived closer to each other I imagine we would have many wine dates together! My favorite thing about Eryka is her ambition. She sets a goal and doesn’t quit until she meets it!
Shannan from Faithfully Beautiful
Shannan is a natural born hustler. I’m not even kidding, this girl came into blogging ready to rock it, and rock it she does! Sometimes I forget that she is so much younger than me because she literally blows my mind with her knowledge on blogging. Not only is she a fabulous blogger, but she manages to keep it all up while traveling the world in an RV with her family! Total props to her too, because there is no way in hell that I would be cut out for that kind of adventure (which is why I’ve been living through her posts). LOL
Chelsea from And Then Life
Chelsea is a teacher turned stay at home mom blogger turned teacher. She just returned back to work this year and has had a bit of a hard time adjusting to her new role as a work away from home mom. She has written about her new journey this year and been honest about the hardships. Following Chelsea is refreshing because she is completely relatable and transparent in both her blog and her Instagram stories (which I watch daily!).
Angel from The Bluegrass Mom
Angel is basically a pregnant, Southern Belle goddess. Seriously, if I didn’t like her so much I’d probably hate her! LOL Angel blogs about life at home in Kentucky and just recently successfully potty trained her two year old (now if she would come to California and potty train my little man next!). If we lived closer together we would have so much fun hitting the town eating all the delicious food and drinks we could get our hands on!
Stephanie from I Literally LOL
Stephanie is quite possibly the sweetest person I have ever met. She and her husband have 3 kids and just recently made a big move with their family. I love her Southern accent and hearing her say (and reading her write) ya’ll seriously makes me almost want to adapt it into my vocabulary! Stephanie blogs about motherhood and marriage, and just life in general and her writing is beautiful. She hopes to one day become a published writer and I have no doubt that it will happen for her soon!
Suzanne from The Glorious Mundane
Suzanne may seriously be the most giving person I have ever come to know. Suzanne and her husband have 2 sweet children of their own and currently also have a foster child. They have opened their doors now twice to children in need. Children they didn’t know, or have any background information on. They simply just welcomed them into their home and treated them as if they were their own. How amazing is that?! Suzanne blogs about everything from book reviews to life at home with her family and she did a really informative foster series on her blog last year.
Mal from Aloha Botts & Tots
Mal is a mom of Irish twins, so that in itself tells you that she is one strong mother. How she handles two tots so close in age is beyond me and I bow down to her as super mom! Mal and her family live in Hawaii and I basically live each day to figure out how I can get my husband to agree to move our family there so we could be neighbors and live off of all the delicious desserts that she makes. Seriously though, you should check out her cakes. They look amazing!
Gwen from Life Love and Lavender
Gwen is a Canadian mom of one (soon to be 2!) and while she is more active on Instagram these days than on her blog, I have learned a great deal from her as well. I love following along with her feed because she always has the cutest baby gear available and I’m constantly sharing it all with my sister for her new baby! I’ve never had an out of the country friend before so its pretty awesome swapping mom stories together and learning that although we are hundreds of miles apart, there is not a whole lot of differences in motherhood between us.
So that wraps up my group of ladies that I’m proud to call my tribe. You know that popular saying right, “Find your tribe and love them hard”? Well, I’ve found mine and I really do love them!
Real Queens fix each other’s crowns.
I want to hear from YOU. Do you have a group of friends that you are proud to call your tribe?
