It’s no secret that my skin care routine went down the toilet after the birth of my daughter. Sadly, it got even worse after the birth of my last son. Sure, there were some nights I was lucky to have cleaned my face with a makeup wipe.. other nights did not fare so well. You see, I’ve been lucky in the sense that I’ve never had to deal with any skincare problems like acne. At least, not until after pregnancy. All those nights of sleeping in day old makeup started catching up with me and I could see the effects of my carelessness in my dull and slightly wrinkled skin.
Finally, I decided it was time to reclaim my youthful, radiant skin and made some changes in my skin care routine.
Keeping your skin protected from the sun is an absolute must, unless you are going for that Magda look (remember the move, There is Something About Mary?) I always apply sunscreen to my face before I head out and if possible, I wear a sunhat.
I personally use a DIY sugar scrub every night before bed. I love how it gently removes old, dry and dead skin cells. I highly recommend that everyone exfoliate their skin, if not daily, at least every two days!
Picking at your pimples or black heads is a serious offense! Doing so can leave your skin irritated or scarred, thus making your radiant skin harder to achieve.
If there is one skin care product must have out there, its this! I started using it about two weeks ago and within a day it had my skin feeling drastically smoother. Trust me, I know how hard it is to take even just 5 minutes out of your day as a busy mom to care for your skin, I do. This was a total game changer that I wish I would have known about years ago. I feel so much more confident in my skin and love how its not only helped with my uneven skin tone, but also with the overall smoothness of my face.
Ok, now your laughing. I can hear it. Trust me, I get how funny this is because my little ones are STILL waking me up to this day. But if you can pledge to go to bed earlier – I know how easy it is to fall into the trap of staying up late just to be alone – you’ll not only feel better overall, your skin will thank you too!
