It’s been almost two years since I set up my daughter’s bedroom. While I have to admit, I still love her room, I think I should have put a little more thought into the details before I went all out. While its true my daughter’s favorite color is pink, I feel like her room is a bit overwhelming. I’m currently working (slowly) on redoing her room and have been hard at work pinning inspiration online. This time around, I will focus on making sure that I won’t have to come back in another two years to change things up again. Instead of going all out with a toddler themed girl room, I will be going for a more elegant look that we can add toddler pieces to in order to personalize her space without overpowering it. Then, as she grows, we can easily remove or replace these items.
Furniture
Currently my daughter has a Queen sized bed but I’ve decided to replace it with a daybed for multiple reasons, but mostly because it will open up the area and provide more room for play. Right now I’m torn between this beautiful daybed in pink or this daybed in pink or grey. We would definitely keep her bookshelf in place, as it seems to belong right there under her window. With that being said, I’d love to replace my daughters toddler vanity
with this one – it’s so dreamy and I think she would love it! I’m also crushing hard on this faux fur ottoman!
Wall Decor
The walls are a tough one for me. I think I’d like to paint her walls white or light grey and then add wallpaper like this one to the wall that the daybed would be against. On the walls without wallpaper, I’m thinking I would add shelving with gold accents and porcelain flowers. Perhaps a cute unicorn plaque or a cute framed piece like this one? I do think these sleepy eyes are a must!
Bedroom Decor
While my goal is to tone down the pink by changing the wall color, I do still plan on incorporating the color in other ways which is why I’m in love with this bed canopy! It’s not overwhelming but has just enough to give the room a little pop of color. And because my daughter is still a young girl, I think keeping her dollhouse around a bit longer is still in order!
I’m so excited to work on this new project and can’t wait to show you all the outcome in the coming weeks/months.
Oh I love this! That fluffy ottoman is too cute!
We have that wall shelf for Alice! I love it so much I’m considering getting another for the kids’ bathroom 🙂
