As Disneyland Annual Passholder’s, our family travels to Anaheim pretty often. During our last visit, we were hosted by the Courtyard Marriott Theme Park Entrance, so that I could give you all the 411 on everything that makes this hotel an amazing place to visit with your family!
ABOUT THE HOTEL
We love the Courtyard Marriott Theme Park Entrance for SO many reasons, but the first would most definitely be because of LOCATION!
This hotel is mere minutes from the entrance to Disneyland. We timed our walk to and from the hotel and each time we clocked in between 7-8 minutes. This is especially helpful after a long day at the park when everyone is feeling a bit exhausted and want to get to our room ASAP! Speaking of rooms – the rooms here at the Courtyard were made with families in mind which is just another huge reason why I love this hotel so much. You don’t feel cramped in a tiny room, and instead you are welcomed into a room that is spacious and welcoming. The standard room boasts 2 Queen beds AND bunk beds, along with a breakfast nook! And that’s not even the best part. The bathrooms accommodate families with two separate showering areas which is so helpful when you are traveling with little ones!
And can we talk about the waterslides? My kids always look forward to staying at the Courtyard Marriott because of this waterpark!
As if this all wasn’t enough to convince you to vacation here on your next Disneyland trip, there is SO much more that this hotel offers. The Bistro is perfect to stop and grab a bite to eat before or after the park. They also know the way to every parent’s heart and conveniently have a Starbucks on hand! Staying for longer than the weekend? Take advantage of the laundry room located on each floor of the hotel. Feeling like you didn’t get enough steps in at the park? Hit the gym located next to the waterpark! The Courtyard Marriott literally has everything you need to help make your stay a comfortable one!
FUN FACT: The Courtyard Marriott Park Theme Entrance won the 2018 Hotel of the Year for all Courtyards!
Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge
It was during this trip that we finally got to check out Disneyland’s new land – Galaxy’s Edge – and it was AMAZING! They put SO much detail into everything you see. As you enter Galaxy’s Edge, you truly feel like you’ve left Disneyland and entered a whole new realm with a ton of great photo opportunities!
Starting TODAY, you no longer need reservations for Galaxy’s Edge, however, capacity is limited. Once the land is full, Disneyland will implement a virtual queue so be sure to download the Disneyland app!
If you plan to visit Olga’s Cantina and Savi’s Workshop, you will need reservations! We waited in line for about an hour just to get our reservations for Olga’s Cantina (with Reservations to Galaxy’s Edge), so I imagine it will be much crazier starting today. You can make your reservations for Olga’s Cantina via the Disneyland app, or by clicking here and for Savi’s Workshop here. Sadly during our timed reservation we did not make it to Savi’s Workshop but we did get the chance to check out Olga’s. It was such a fun environment with an awesome DJ. The drinks were not bad either!
STAR WARS MILLENNIUM FALCON: SMUGGLER’S RUN
Smuggler’s Run is a fun flight experience that the entire family is sure to love! Hop on the Millennium Falcon with up to 5 others and enjoy a fun and interactive flight! The minimum height requirement for this new ride is 38 inches, so thankfully, the 4 of us were able to go on with no problems! I know some people don’t want to spoil the surprise of a new ride, but if you are NOT one of those people, check out the full ride experience below!
Galaxy Edge Food
We had very limited time during our visit to Galaxy’s Edge but we did have just enough time to eat at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. The food was delish and I highly recommend the Braised Shaak Roast!
It does get VERY busy so I would suggest that you take advantage of mobile food ordering. Docking Bay 7 also offers breakfast and lunch.
Overall we had a great experience visiting Galaxy’s Edge for the first time. I do wish we would have had more time to explore but everything we did see was truly magical and we can’t wait to get back for another visit soon!
